Welcome to our website. My name is Shari. I have been a small breeder of various retrievers for the past 23 years. Several years ago, I decided to develop a business dedicated to the health and welfare of dogs. I attended pet grooming school and opened a grooming shop which handled a few boarders now and then. Woofs N Wags was established in 2003 and is located just a few miles south of Baton Rouge, LA. In the summer of 2006, we have added a new 10 run airconditioned kennel, complete with televisions, doggie doors for each boarder, with plans in the development stages for playgrounds.
During recent research of Siberian Huskies, I happened upon information about a rare, small, intelligent and absolutely beautiful "mini version" of a Husky; the Alaskan Klee Kai. In my search for this magnificent breed, I found a breeder who wanted to retire from breeding. I was able to acquire 3 AKKs from her and thus began my quest for breeding my own line of AKKs. At present, we have 5 AKKs. I was fortunate to be able to attend my first dog show and show for the first time. Maia, my 5 month old AKK took 2nd place in her class, but after much training, she is now better prepared for the showring, and we have high hopes she will become a champion very soon.
I also very recently acquired my first Siberian Husky. She is a double blue-eyed, black and white, picture perfect sibe. My son also has a black and white, bi-eyed male whom he purchased from Sierra Kennels. This dog is the grandson to one of the dogs who starred in the movie, "Eight Below". We look forward to our first litter near the end of the summer of 2007 from these two, and you will not want to miss out if you are looking for a sibe.
My goal as a responsible breeder is to be sure you as a potential buyer are well-informed prior to placing a puppy in your home, and to place my babies in the very best homes possible.
